Cross-section of an underground silo: storeroom, generator, drill bay and crew quarters above tunnels of glowing ore and crystal Concept art, work in progress

Mining Maniac

Nobody remembers why the colony lives underground. Keep the silo running, send the drill deeper, and find out what the council would rather you didn't.

About the game

Run the silo. Feed it from below.

The silo is home: storerooms, generators, hydroponics, quarters, labs. You build its rooms, staff them with a crew who each have their own strengths, and keep power, water and food flowing. Collapsed levels come back to life as you restore them.

Everything the silo needs comes out of the rock. Take the drill on timed dives, steering it through dirt, stone and bedrock for copper, charge crystals and sealed pockets of whatever came before. Power and cargo space are limited, and a drill that runs dry becomes a wreck your recovery crew has to bring home.

The council's inspector visits on a timer. Rooms below the permit line are illegal. Hide them well.

What you'll do

Build and staff the silo

Dig out space, build rooms, and assign a crew. Managers take over each system once you've learned to run it yourself.

Dive for materials

Steer the drill through layered rock against the clock. Every area adds new materials, harder rock and a new hazard to learn.

Bring the drill home

Drive back on your own power or pay for autopilot. Lose it and a recovery team goes down after it, with one hard call on the way.

Advance through ages

Move the silo from Salvage to Industry to Ascent, opening new rooms, higher tiers and research that improves every room of a kind.

Outwit the inspector

Illegal rooms earn fines and seals. False walls buy you time, if you build them before the knock at the door.

Choose the ending

Launch a rocket to build a station, terraform the surface, or seal the silo for centuries. Each ending has an endless post-game.
